I want to share a heartbreaking event that deeply affected our family. On June 19, 2024 —Father’s Day— our beloved brothers,
Nathaniel Hoover and Walter Hoover (aka June), were involved in a tragic car accident in Kankakee, IL.
They were driving back to Chicago after attending funerals in Lexington, MS when their car struck a concrete barrier. Walter, who was behind the wheel, had unfortunately fallen asleep while driving.
Both suffered severe, life-threatening injuries, but by God’s grace, they survived the crash. However, just one month later, on July 19, 2024, Nathaniel passed away due to complications from his injuries. We continue to mourn his loss every day and keep his wife and children in our prayers.
Though we grieve Nathaniel’s passing, we are profoundly grateful that Walter survived. 🙌🏽
Walter’s Journey to Recovery
To date, Walter has undergone four major surgeries and requires at least two more. He remains hospitalized in a rehabilitation facility, unable to walk, is wheelchair-dependent, and has developed a serious infection in his right heel and extreme pain in his right knee.
Despite these challenges, Walter remains hopeful and determined. His sons, Dameon and Deandre Hoover, have
been by his side, offering unwavering love and support.
